Yet more ;) in-process quick shots

After this, I'll be underglazing some of the bisqued (hard first-fired) Art Nouveau tiles. Some finished tiles to come... I promise ;)
But first, here are the finished sculpts of Amelie. This is a deceiving point and when "trust in the process" is most needed...

Great to learn how your things are conceived and made. A real education for me. Thanks for that.

We found mud bricks in the making today, with clay from the desert of Mamshit, where the ancient Nabateans once built.

You said in your comments in the previous post that you try to make it look simple. Well, I'm more and more convinced that it is not! :-)

It doesn't look easy to me either.

Oooh ... look at Amelie's cheeky smile and her mischievous eyes. You bring plenty of sparkles into my day, David! And, in my eyes, you are definitely proving to be prolific in your work. That imagination of yours is so inspiring! Have a beautiful day, dear friend. x

'underglazing' is a nice word...
it reminds me of glace, something sweet and perfumed, something out of fairy tales...

I've never seen this process explained so carefully, lovingly, with many photos to illustrate... I think all your readers here, me included, should gang up and give you the fabled and glorious : Gracefully Amazing Glazed Tile Maker Award... well, if it doesn't exist yet, guess we'll just have to invent it for you... your work and depictions of it here are exquisite.

I echo others above, can't wait to see what the finished tiles look like, the suspense is killing me... do we have to wait for them to come out of an oven or something like that ?

Have an excellent weekend David !!!
